In the initial shiatsu session a comprehensive interview, assessment and medical history are taken during which the goals for the treatment or series of treatments are also discussed. Shiatsu treatments average 50-70 minutes and cost CHF 110.00 for a session. Most insurance carriers in Switzerland will pay a part of the cost of shiatsu if you have supplementary insurance. I am recognized by most carriers in Switzerland. Check here and here for a list of providers.
Shiatsu is conducted on a fully clothed receiver (so dress comfortably in work-out pants, a long-armed t-shirt and bring an extra pair of fresh socks). Allow 90 minutes for the initial consultation and assessment.
Shiatsu therapists, like doctors, are required to observe medical-confidentiality.
